If you grew up in the late ’90s or early 2000s, chances are you owned a pair of jelly shoes. Translucent, slightly squeaky, sometimes even glittery, they were a childhood staple (see mine pictured below for credibility).

While traditional jelly shoes were often childish and chunky, today’s versions are much more refined with sleek silhouettes, matte finishes and sophisticated color palettes that feel surprisingly chic.
Jelly flats might not be everyone’s favorite trend, they’re definitely quirky! That’s why I’ve found three affordable options that won’t break the bank while offering a fun pop of color and versatility through the seasons. In a fashion landscape that has been dominated by minimalism and “quiet luxury,” jelly shoes bring the fun.
